How a repair visit works
We start with the fault code and the symptoms, then test the actual components rather than swapping parts and hoping. Most combi faults come down to a handful of items, diverter valve, thermistor, pressure sensor, fan or PCB, and we carry the common ones on the van.
Once we know the cause you get a fixed price in writing covering parts, labour and testing. If the part has to be ordered we tell you the lead time up front and leave the system in a safe condition in the meantime.
Repair or replace?
If your boiler is under about ten years old and the part is available, repair is nearly always the better value option. Where a boiler is older, repeatedly failing or parts are obsolete, we will say so and quote a replacement alongside the repair so you can compare.
As a rough rule, when a single repair costs more than a third of a new installation and the appliance is past twelve years old, replacement usually pays for itself in efficiency and fewer call-outs. We will never push a new boiler on you to avoid doing a repair.
